This sweetheart came to Storybook Farm in the early spring of 2022!
We love so much about her! We love her topline, her rear leg angulation, her coloring, and especially her milk genes.
She has a sweet and also sassy personality. She is very petite, so we waited a hear to freshen her as a two-year-old. We were not disappointed in the results. Read on to find out why!
Biscotti Growing Up
Biscotti’s Registration
We love Jennifer Crawford’s choices as a breeder, and this little girl is a blend of her herd and mine! Jen sold me my first goat, Hurlburt Farms Buttercup 2*P, pregnant with three doelings. The firstborn on our farm, Bluebelle 3*P, has arguably the best udder in our barn. She freshened with twins the first time: Storybook’s Bramble *B and Storybook’s Briar Rose.
Jen bought Storybook’s Bramble *B from me. In 2021, she bred him to her stellar doe, JC’s Penelope, who was a first freshener, producing Biscotti. We are excited about line breeding possibilities with this pretty girl!
Biscotti’s Udder
This is Biscotti’s FF udder in early 2024. It is socked on tight: super high and well attached.
Biscotti delivered twins as a first freshener, and was a great mom. At first, she held back milk for her kids, so her milk tests were unimpressive. After her boy went to another farm, her milk came in fully and she allowed us to share it! She finished as one of our strongest milkers that season, and we retained her daughter by Green Gables Amazing Asteroid *B, Storybook’s Creamy E’Claire.
Dam Line
JC’s Penelope
JC’s Penelope is a pretty girl!
She has a level topline and well sprung barrel. Her breed character is lovely. She has a great brisket and her udder is high and tight.
Her skin is soft and her teat orifaces are wide and easy to milk.
Penelope’s FF udder.
Penny gave birth to triplet doelings in 2022 (one of which is Biscotti).
Her first freshening udder is stunning. These pictures are of 11-12-hour separation.
Biscotti’s Granddam
This is JC Ivy’s udder. Love her wide escutcheon, and stellar attachments.
Hurlburt Farm’s Gilbert is Penelope’s sire.
Gilbert’s dam is Hurlburt Farm’s Dori. She is from a line I love, which goes back to Green Gables’ legendary doe, Echo Hills’ Molly O’Malley. We actually own Dori’s dam, Green Gables MB Dorothy 4*P, as well as three of Dorothy’s daughters: Storybook’s Bridget O’Malley, Storybook’s Sheila O’Malley, and Storybook’s Colleen O’Malley. Pictured left is Dori’s third freshening udder.
Biscotti’s littermate sisters in 2024. Susie is a 2nd freshener and Leah is a 1st freshener. Susie’s 2F udder is pictured upper left and her foreudder below. Pictured right is Leah’s FF udder.
Both are on milk test this year. Leah got a 1-Day star, and is continuing on 305 test. Susie is giving 5.3 lbs per 12-hour milking, and Leah is giving 3.4 lbs. per 12-hour separation.

Sire Line
Biscott’s sire is our own Storybook’s Bramble *B. As mentioned above, Bramble was born on our farm in 2020, and sold to Jen Crawford. We retained his littermate sister, Storybook’s Briar Rose. Rosie freshened with a perfectly lovely udder, after giving us Storybook’s Nonpareil, a buckling that we simply had to retain.
Since Bramble came from our farm, you can see his forebears on pages linked their names here:
- Bramble’s sire is Green Gables E Asher *B.
- His dam is JC’s Bluebelle 3*P.
- His dam’s dam is Hurlburt’s Buttercup 2*P. (You can see Bramble’s sire’s sire on this page.)
Biscott’s Kids
2024 Kids
Biscotti was bred to Green Gables Amazing Asteroid *B for her first freshening as a 2 year old. She is a petite girl, and I didn’t want to rush her, so we waited. Biscotti kidded three days before her due date with two perfectly presented kids: a buckling first, and then a doeling (retained — Storybook’s Creamy E’Claire). Both have amazing breed character. Biscotti is an excellent mom!
