Champagne is a sweet, gentle girl, just like her dam.
I had tried for two years for this pairing! I love her dam, Udderly Precious Mimz the Word *P and her sire Green Gables E Asher *B, and they finally gave us quads in 2021, and Champagne was the only girl. (You can click on these names to see pedigrees and pictures.)
In 2022, we gave Mimzie the year off to help her hips heal from two consecutive quad years, but milked her through. She was still going strong after 370 days. We finally dried her off so she could build up calcium for the coming kidding season.
Champagne takes after her sire in color, and after both of them in temperament. I have loved her conformation, and was very excited to see her have twins. Even more fun was the realization that she must have a hidden moonspot, for both of her kids were moonspotted, and their sire is not!

Champagne’s Udder
Champagne’s FF udder is all that I worked and hoped for in breeding Udderly Precious Mimz the Word *P to Green Gables E Asher *B. (I am super glad that I repeated this pairing in 2022 just before Asher died; I retained the one doeling from that pairing: Storybook’s Brillig.)
Mimzie has a tremendous will to milk. She has been an MDGA Top Ten Doe. But, her fault is her attachments. I bred her to Asher hoping to improve them, and Champagne is the result. SO HAPPY with this doe! Her udder is high and tight with great attachments, medial, and teat placement. I expected it to be highly productive as well, and she is well on her way to earning her star on milk test in 2024.
Champagne’s Kids
2023
Champagne was paired with Storybook’s Nonpareil. We were very surprised to see moonspots on both kids, when neither parent displays any. We conclude that Champagne must have a hidden moonspot, since none of Nonny’s other kids have shown any, even if a dam had them.
2024 kids
Champagne was paired with Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B for this year. They produced triplets (two doelings and a buckling), which she has nursed effortlessly. Storybook’s Riesling (doeling) was retained. Shirley Temple (doeling) and Whiskey Sour (buckling) went off to bless other farms.
