Ever since she was born, Chérie has had a piece of my heart. She has the sweetest face in our herd—by far. And it was so great that she was naturally polled, so I didn’t have to burn a hair on her head, or make her cry. (Truly, disbudding is THE WORST.)
Chérie’s dam is MDGA Top 10 Ginger Top Farms Giselle *P and her sire is Goat Trails Finley’s Gem Texas Pete. Her dam has a wonderful udder that is capacious, and socked on tight, with correct teat placements (see pictures using the link above). Giselle is a gentle and sweet doe.
She is a small girl, so I held her over to freshen as a yearling. She is moonspotted, with frosted ears. We were excited to see her first freshening udder in 2022, and she did not disappoint! She was huge and had a bit of trouble because her first born was breached. After that, she kidded like a champ: triplets! Two were polled like their dam: Storybook’s Marguerite (retained) and Storybook’s Beauregard. Her third kid was moonspotted: Storybook’s Prince Louis.
In 2023, she gave us two beautiful, blue eyed, moonspotted daughters with Blackberry’s BQ Once in a Blue Moon. See pictures of kids below.

There’s a lot to love about this udder! Cherie has effortlessly fed triplets, and was a very attentive dam. The udder is high and socked on tight. The fore udder is well blended, and the teats are good sized with open orifices. Her dam, Ginger Top Farm Giselle *P has the most productive udder in our barn. In her first milk test, we could tell that she was holding back milk (not letting down). Hopefully, as the spring progresses and kids leave, she’ll share more!
Cherie did not quite make her star as a FF. She never did fully let down for us but she easily fed three kids and was an excellent and attentive mom.

2022 Kids
Cherie was paired with Bellhouse’s Rigel *B for her first freshening. She produced triplets… and boy was she huge while waiting for them! The two on the left are boy/girl and very alike. Both are polled and have blue eyes. The boy on the right has moonspots and brown eyes. We retained the girl (Storybook’s Marguerite) and the two boys found great homes as herdsires elsewhere.
2023 Kids
Chrie was paired with Blackberry’s BQ Once in a Blue Moon. They produced two adorable doelings: both moonspotted, blue eyed, and one polled. We retained both of these girls, hoping to freshen them for 2024.
