Mosaic’s Mahogany Obsidian *B (F6)

We love this boy! Let me count the ways…

We love his width and depth. We LOVE his nose and ears! We love that his champion maternal Blackberry granddam and great grandsire are the same as our Once in a Blue Moon’s paternal grand dam and great grandsire. This gives us the opportunity for line breeding as the years unfold. We are excited that he’s F6 — Purebred.

His is 10 months old in this picture.

Blackberry’s BV Pure Black Obsidian 2*P (Sin) VMCH

Courtney DuCharme writes: “Sin has placed well in virtual and live shows- Her best placing was BIS in a live show (only 8 there). Her daughter has gone on to place well in virtual shows so far as well (daughter hasn’t done live shows).”

Sid’s Sire

Breezy Shores Farm Count Chocula *B (The Count)

Count comes from strong milk lines. His dam has her 3*P and an udder with lovely attachments & great teat placement. Both of his grand dams have their 2*P, and his grand-dam and great grand dams also appear to have good udders.

Courtney DuCharme writes of him: “He has good shoulders, pretty level topline, decent width of body, and nice ears. His retained daughter took both her classes in the fall V-show in classes of 10.”

Count’s Dam’s Udder

HeartBreak Kidz Pippi Longstocking 3*P

This is Count’s dam. We loved her udder height, great attachments, and correct teat size and placement. In 2029, Pippi placed 3rd overall in One-Day Milk Tests for butterfat.

Sid’s Kids

2023 Kids

Sid sired three litters in 2023. Storybook’s Chocolate Kiss gave us a stunning singleton doeling, Storybook’s Silverbell. Storybook’s Briar Rose had triplets: two bucklings (Black Thorn and Ambrose) and a doeling, Storybook’s Primrose. All with outstanding breed character. Storybook’s Jenny Wren gave us two boys (Kestrel and Peregrin).

2024 Kids

This year, Sid was bred to six does: JC’s Snowdrop 3*P, Storybook’s Mayflower, Mosaic’s Tiny Dancer, Storybook’s Tiger Lily, Storybook’s Annette, and Storybook’s Caramel Macchiato, and a surprise breeding to Gingertop Farm Giselle *P, whom we had tried to retire! Snowdrop delivered quads (Poppy retained), and Mayflower one buckling. Dancer delivered buck/doe twins (both retained), as did Tiger Lily (both retained). Cara didn’t settle. Giselle had twins; so far DNA testing has affirmed that Sid sired one of the twin doelings (Desiree), and may also sired her twin sister, Lorraine.
