We are excited to welcome this beautiful doe to Storybook Farm in May of 2021.
She comes to us from Green Gables Mini Nubians. Eliya Elmquist has had her since she was a young kid, and wrote this about her:
“CANDY is the fulfillment of a long search over 5 or 6 years to find a polled MiniNubian that would not sacrifice milk, udders and conformation to bring in the polled gene. This girl has a pedigree loaded with milk and she has nice conformation to boot.
She is also a very sweet, gentle and quiet girl. We made a long trip out to Oregon to get her and she was such a joy to travel with.”
“Candy’s ff udder and milk production are amazing. She gave almost a gallon of milk as a FIRST freshener on her first milk test of the year. But the most amazing part was the phenomenal components – 6.4%BF and 4.5%P! She is very easy to milk and her udder is held nice and snugly with strong attachments.
Her 2nd freshening she had a single doe, so her record wasn’t quite as impressive, but in 2020 she kidded with quads and her production is up nicely. We have retained several of her polled doelings, Taffy, Buggy and Penny. We are also retaining one of her polled 2020 bucklings, Moses.”

2022 Kids at Storybook Farm
Candy was bred to our new herdsire, Blackberry’s BQ Once in a Blue Moon. The produced two bucklings, Salt Water Taffy and Coffee Toffee.
2023 Kids at Storybook Farm
Candy was paired with Green Gables E Asher *B just before he contracted meningeal worm and had to be put down. She gave us three lovely kids: 2 bucklings and a doeling. We retained Storybook’s Twix and Storybook’s Candyman *B. Both of these kids are polled.
2024 Kids at Storybook Farm
This year, Candy was pared with Asher’s other 2023 son, Storybook’s Buckeye *B. Buckeye’s kids are gorgeous. We are retaining their doeling, Storybook’s Bit O’ Honey, but their buckling, Storybook’s Shoo Fly Pie *B (who is polled) will bless another farm.
