Valentine is a feisty sweetheart.
She was born here at Storybook Farm on Valentine’s Day, 2021.
She is a strong girl, and the spitting image of her dam, Hurlburt Farms Buttercup 2*P. Her sire is Bellhouse’s Rigel*B. (You can read about them from these links.) She has looong, soft, frosted ears and great breed character.
Valentine is also a mischievous character! She loves to climb, jump, perch up high (as in windows and above mineral dished), and jump over half doors to get to her mom. Below in her “growing up” gallery are just some pictures of her antics.
We hope to freshen Valentine in the late fall of 2021 for a summer 2022 litter.

Dam Line
Valentine is out of Hurlburt’s Buttercup 2*P. You can see Buttercup’s udder pictures here. Buttercup was a beloved foundation doe who we lost in 2024 due to a pinched nerve in her cheek that disabled her cud chewing. We miss her!
Sire Line
Valentine was sired by Bellhouse’s Rigel *B. He is out of very good bloodlines for milk production. His dam had her milk star and his sire was a *B as well. Click here to see his page and the udders behind him.
Valentine’s Udder
Due to breeding difficulties during 2022, Valentine was not bred until she was two years old. Her udder is beautifully shaped and high and tight, but is not overly productive in her first freshening, with only a single doeling. We expect much better things of her in subsequent freshenings, given her genetic heritage.

Valentine’s Kids
2024 Kid
Valentine was bred to Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B for her first kidding. Mazy puts amazing breed character on all his kids, and Sweet Pea’s ears are something to write home about. Her nose is gorgeous, too!
Valentine had one adorable (and hefty) doeling, who was positioned butt first. We had to help her out, but Valentine took to motherhood immediately and LOVES her Sweet Pea!
