We are excited to introduce our first retained herd sire, Prince Valiant.
Valiant is out of Ginger Top Farm’s Giselle *P by Joyous Farm’s Le Tigre. (Please click on the dam/sire names to be taken to their web pages.)
Both sire and dam have great milk creds. Giselle’s udder is the best in our barn, and her high nubian percentage gives this F2 boy some amazing breed character.
Valiant is lightly moonspotted, heavily roaned, and long bodied. He has sharp shoulders, but also a wide, deep chest. He seems to float when he moves. He has great angularity in his hind legs. This picture is at six months old.

Valiant’s Kids
2022 Kids
Valiant was bred to two does for his debut year: JC’s Snowdrop produced twin bucklings (and we do mean twin–they were hard to tell apart), and Bellhouse’s Magpie produced buck/doe twins.
We noticed that ears followed the dams with these kids. Snowdrop has quite a bit of ear control, and so do her boys. Maggie’s kids have long, soft, pendulous ears that are frosted, like hers.
All these kids were solid, well put together kids. We retained Maggie’s doeling, naming her Jenny Wren.
