We are super jazzed about this girl! She is out of one of our best young does, Storybook’s Tiger Lily, and sired by Mosaic’s Mahogany Obsidian *B. We have retained her brother as a new herdsire, to grow up in the next two years or so.
Landini has a long, beautiful body with a very level topline. She has long ears, and is black (which we love). Her dam has an excellent udder: well shaped, set high, and socked on tight.
Landini will probably be bred first in 2025.
Landini Growing Up
Landini’s Dam Line
Landini’s dam is our own beloved Storybook’s Tiger Lily. Lily is a lovely doe who is on her second freshening in 2024, and well on track for her milk star. If she gets it (as we expect) she will be a 4*P.
See her udder picture as a FF left, and read more about her here.
Landini’s maternal granddam: JC’s Snowdrop 3*P (Tiger Lily’s dam). Snowdrop is the most productive doe in our barn. She recently gave 8.5# (over a gallon) on test.
Pictured here is her udder at 5 years old in 2024, nursing quadruplets with milk left over every evening.
Landini’s maternal great granddam is Green Gables SOF Snow Camo 3*P. She had a beaufiul udder and was a premier doe in the Green Gables barn.
We had her son, Green Gables E Asher *B, and he sired Tiger Lily. Sadly, he passed away in 2022 of meningeal worm.
Landini’s Sire Line
Mosaic’s Mahogany Obsidian *B is Landini’s sire. We bred this boy to all of our top does this year, and were not disappointed in the results!
We are retaining the majority of doelings that he gave us, and his son as his replacement in our herd, since we won’t need his genetics for another two years.
Sid is out of very good milk lines, with Blackberry’s legendary animals in his pedigree. See much more here.
