Desiree’s name reflects our heart towards her: we desired a last doeling out of Giselle *P, and we got two! Desiree and her sister Lorraine are beautiful sisters from a much beloved doe!
Giselle had, we planned, been retired. But she came into heat in 2023 and, while we were away, got in with our two best bucks. DNA testing has revealed that Desiree is sired by Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B.
Desiree got her mother’s beautiful moonspots, long ears, and gorgeous breed character, and both of her parents’ milky genes. We are so excited about Desiree!

Desiree’s Dam Line
Ginger Top Farm Giselle *P
Giselle has been a powerhouse milker at Storybook Farm, and we love her. In the last few years, kidding has been very hard for Giselle, so we decided to retire her. Imagine our joy when she gave us two last doelings!
In 2021 MDGA’s Top Ten national milk testing program, Giselle placed in ALL THREE categories: #8 for milk weight, #9 for butter fat weight, and #10 for butterfat percent! Giselle is F1, and high in Nubian blood (84%).

Desiree’s Sire Line
Desiree’s Sire
Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B is a beautiful buck. He is on the smaller side, which should bring down Desiree’s size some. He has an awesome topline, and his dam holds the record for milk production on test at Green Gables, peaking at 14 pounds on test day! Dam Giselle is 84% Nubian, so she will be on the larger size, but for his influence.
Please click on his name to see his pedigree and udder pictures of his forebearers. We have hand picked two below.
Desiree’s Sire’s Dam
Desiree’s sire is Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B (Mazy). He’s a gorgeous buck with a straight, level topline (including his butt) and wonderful breed character that he hands on to all of his kids. (To see his kids, click on his linked name and scroll to the bottom of his page.)
See more on his dam Eclipse below. In 2020, Eclipse place twice on the Top 10 305-Day List: #3 for milk volume and #5 for total butterfat. She earned her milk star in both volume and butterfat!
Mazy’s Dam
Mazy’s dam is Green Gables FF Cali Eclipse 5*P.
Eliya Elmquist writes of her: “Eclipse has a ton of capacity and is one of our heaviest milkers giving over 1500# a year. Her rear udder is super high. Her teats are longer than ideal, but VERY easy to milk with large orifices, so we are happy. She is a favorite one to milk here as it only takes a few moments to milk her completely.” This picture is of her second freshening.
Mazy’s Littermate Sister
Green Gables Shooting Star
Here is Mazy’s sister’s udder early in her first lactation. It has great height. Her escutcheon is wide. Great teats and teat placement, and a very strong medial. We love it!
