Willow’s Dam Line
Willow’s Dam: Storybook’s Tiger Lily. This is her first freshening udder. See the wonderful attachments and how high and tight it is? This is one I definitely want to replicate!
Tiger Lily was not on test for her first freshening, because of difficulties in our lives, but in her second freshening she is on track to gain her milk star, which will make Wlllow a *B.
She was sired by one of our best bucks ever, Green Gables E Asher *B. (Click on his name to see details of this stellar boy.)
This is JC’s Snowdrop 3*P. It’s her 4th freshening udder, in 2024. During this season, she gave over a gallon a day for several months on milk test.
As you can see, at six years old, her udder has held up beautifully. This is Willow’s maternal grand dam.
Willow’s maternal great grand dam: Hurlburt Farms Buttercup 2*P was a foundation doe in our herd.
Pictures of her udder don’t do it justice, and succeeding generations were greatly improved by bucks from Green Gables, Cedar Creek, and Mosaic’s Menagerie. But, it was Buttercup who started it all for Storybook Farm!
Willow’s Sire Line
Willow’s sire is Mosaic’s Mahogany Obsidian *B. He is a deep, wide boy with a lovely topline. He sired many litters here at Storybook Farm, and we love him. He is purebred.
Currently, he’s living at another farm, since we retained two of his sons in 2024, and three daughters. Willow and his age-mate Storybook’s Rocketman will take up where their sire left off. Meanwhile, we have a buy-back clause in Sid’s sales contract, so he may see our pastures again someday!
Sid’s dam is Blackberry’s BV Pure Black Obsidian 2*P (Sin) VMCH. Sin was an MDGA Top 10 winner 2021: #7 in Butter Fat Weight and #4 in Butterfat Percentage.
