Lorraine was a gift to us from God. Her dam, Giselle *P, is a favorite here at Storybook Farm, but we had decided to retire her as she has had trouble kidding for two years running.
Giselle had other ideas, and leaped the fence while in heat to spend time with our two best bucks. DNA testing has revealed her sire to be Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B! Looking at her before we tested, I had guessed at this outcome. Mazy puts beautiful breed character on his kids, and long bodies. Lorraine has both! She’s a special girl and full of milky genes!
Lorraine is lightly moonspotted, with looong ears and lovely breed character.

Lorraine’s Dam Line
Ginger Top Farm Giselle *P
Giselle has been a powerhouse milker at Storybook Farm, and we love her. In the last few years, kidding has been very hard for Giselle, so we decided to retire her. Imagine our joy when she gave us two last doelings!
In 2021 MDGA’s Top Ten national milk testing program, Giselle placed in ALL THREE categories: #8 for milk weight, #9 for butter fat weight, and #10 for butterfat percent! Giselle is F1, and high in Nubian blood.

Lorraine’s Sire Line
Lorraine’s sire is Green Gables AC Amazing Asteroid *B (Mazy). He’s a gorgeous buck with a straight, level topline (including his butt) and wonderful breed character that he hands on to all of his kids. (To see his kids, click on his linked name and scroll to the bottom of his page.)
See more on his dam Eclipse below. In 2020, Eclipse place twice on the Top 10 305-Day List: #3 for milk volume and #5 for total butterfat. She earned her milk star in both volume and butterfat!
In 2021, Eclipse peaked on test at 14#.
Mazy’s Dam
Mazy’s dam is Green Gables FF Cali Eclipse 5*P.
Eliya Elmquist writes of her: “Eclipse has a ton of capacity and is one of our heaviest milkers giving over 1500# a year. Her rear udder is super high. Her teats are longer than ideal, but VERY easy to milk with large orifices, so we are happy. She is a favorite one to milk here as it only takes a few moments to milk her completely.” This picture is of her second freshening.
Mazy’s Maternal Grand Dam
Green Gables Cali Luna 4*P is Eclipse’s dam.
Eliya again: “Eclipse’s dam’s udder was everything I breed for: Incredible capacity, excellent teat placement, high, wide rear udder, well extended and smoothly blended foreudder, correct udder shape and TONS of milk peaking at 10# as a 2nd freshener!”
