Kathy Hurlburt wrote, “Claire has beautiful markings just like her mother, black and white with a few bonus white spots. She also has sweet, creamy milk in her pedigree. Our sweet Claire has the whole package, we couldn’t ask for more. She is milking at 4 months fresh almost 4# with close to 6% butterfat. Claire’s milk is so creamy! It makes for the best ice cream and cheese!”

Claire’s Dam: Green Gables USG Lady Jasmine 3*P
Eliya Elmquist wrote this: “JASMINE is a beautiful doe out of one of my favorites, Nutmeg. She has BEAUTIFUL breed character with long, well shaped ears and a slighty roman nose. Jasmine is powerfully built and smoothly blended with very nice overall conformation. She has a sweet face and a lovely personality. Jasmine’s dam, Nutmeg, has a very nice udder and is extremely easy to milk. Jasmine’s sire is also from great milking lines.”
“Jasmine has started her milking career living up to her heritage. Her udder is extremely correct with a strong medial, even halves, high, wide rear udder and nice overall shape. Her teats are long, correctly placed, perfectly plumb, and best of all are very easy-to-milk. Her udder has wonderful, soft texture. She is also milking well for a first freshener at about 5# a day. I am thrilled with her first freshening, and look forward to watching this elegant little doe mature. Jasmine is also very beautifully marked – she is solid black with a white star and a white belt with a black spot in it on each side.”

Claire’s dam’s dam: Green Gables EHJ Lady Nutmeg 2*P
Eliya Elmquist wrote this: “NUTMEG has a super sweet personality and BEAUTIFUL breed character. Both of which she readily passes on to her offspring. Her sire Jasper has thrown gorgeous kids and Nutmeg is a great example of that. Nutmeg’s dam, ‘Arthur’, was a lovely doe that milked like a cow. Nutmeg got her beautiful breed character from her sire – long, soft, well shaped ears and a slightly roman nose.
Nutmeg’s udder is soft and she is super easy to milk. She also has high butterfat so her milk is very rich and sweet. The first milk test of the year (2011) she gave 8.2#s!!! That’s over 1 gallon in a 24 hour period. VERY good for a doe that is only 25″ tall and weighs barely 100#s. She has also proven a will to milk by milking through from freshening in 2012 to still giving around a quart a day in 2014 without kidding again.”

Claire’s Sire Line
Claire’s Sire: Beloved Freedom
Eliya Elmquist wrote: “FREEDOM is a BEAUTIFUL buck from Sally McDonnel’s herd in OH. He has gorgeous conformation with very correct feet and legs, a looong body and very nice topline.”
“His dam, Freckle, is a great milker. I don’t have a good picture of her udder as it is uneven from nursing kids, but from my in-person visit, I could see that besides that it was very nice with high attachments, nice teats and best of all, she produces great tasting milk.
Claire’s Sire’s Dam: Rainbow Hills Freckles
Eliya Elmquist wrote, “Freckles is a beautiful doe with lots of body capacity and lovely coloring – red buckskin with tons of moonspots. I really look forward to using Freedom in my herd. Thank you Sally for letting this wonderful buck come home with us! His son, Spice, has given us many gorgeous kids as well. Freedom’s daughter in our herd is Ashley.”
